You probably recognise this. A meeting with your supervisor is coming up, you prepared every detail, you know what you want but when the meeting is over, you leave the room disgruntled. Or you feel insignificant the moment you step through his/her door? You have the feeling like you are back in grade 1 and you have to ask something from a teacher in grade 5? Or the feeling doing an oral exam with the most terrifying teacher in the school.
Well, maybe it is not so bad for PhD students, but I know many don’t feel comfortable the moment they need to talk to their supervisor. In the following TEDtalk social psychologist Amy Cuddy will give you some tips with a different perspective.
