about you

Some days nothing works. You have tried everything, changed your work place, put on the right music to study, divided your work into smaller tasks and used the pomodoro technique. And still it doesn’t work.

I have one more tip for you that you can use to change the bad times into good times.

The tip? Change your daily routine in a radical way. Get up at 3.30 am in the morning (or better said in the night) to start working. So go to bed really early, around 9.00 pm, get up really early, one cup of coffee and before you know it you have made a dent in your work before the day has even started.

The big advantage is that you won’t be distracted at such an early hour. Nobody is up yet and even on internet it isn’t busy. Even the feeling to know you are already working and the rest of the world is still asleep will make your more productive.

In case you are not a morning person, it might not be the right solution for you. In that case, why don’t you lie down for a couple of hours and get up in the evening to start working. Of course you have to make sure you will always get enough sleep.

Hopefully one or the other will make the bad times into good times again.

  1. Yep, I concur. Early starts feel more satisfying than staying up later. Perhaps because we hear from many people who have late nights, and not so many doing earlies. You get the chance to feel unique in the solitude!
