You don’t really want to discuss with your supervisor that you don’t know how to proceed. Just try it yourself a couple more times, because it can’t be that hard? Don’t start writing your article. Just read another article hoping you will find just the information that you need. Work some extra hours. Better not apply for that conference. Too scary.
Do you recognize all this? Fat chance it has to do with your confidence, fat chance you are insecure how to handle certain things. Very understandable, but also very annoying.
